Abstract

Regarded highway intersection as research object, traffic conflict technology was introduced to evaluate traffic safety quantitatively, it was proposed that different severities of traffic conflict should be considered in traffic safety evaluationi¤TTC(time to collision) was obtained indirectly through observation of distance of conflict and velocity of conflict vehicle by video, and the severity judgment criterion of traffic conflict at highway intersection was gotten eventually with using the method of cumulative frequency analysisi¤Combinedwith data collectio traffic volume, the ratios of conflict count of different severities to traffic volume were chosen as indices, and gray theory was used as calculating method to deal with indices through clustering analysisi¤The evaluation result of 8 highway intersections was used to verify the related conclusionsi¤
