Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression levels of interleukin-8(IL-8) in the amniotic fluid and placenta growth factor(PLGF) in placenta and their correlation with preeclampsia.Methods Amniotic fluid and placenta samples were collected from normal pregnant woman 30 cases(control group),mild preeclampsia group 15 cases and severe preeclampsia group 20 cases.IL-8 level were determined with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and PLGF expression were determined with immunohistochemistry.Results The levels of IL-8 in the mild preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia groups were significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.01),and the level of severe preeclampsia group was significantly higher than that of mild preeclampsia group(P0.01).The PLGF expression levels of mild preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia groups were significantly lower than that of control group(P0.01),and the level of severe preeclampsia group was significantly lower than that of mild preeclampsia group(P0.01).IL-8 level is negatively correlated with PLGF expression(P0.01).Conclusion The increase in the amniotic fluid level of IL-8 and the decrease in the placental level of PLGF may be correlated with the occurrence and development of preeclampsia.
