Abstract
Objective To explore the relation between the helicobacterium polyrus (HP) and precancerous lesion of stomach. Methods 225 patients of epigastric disposition were received HP detection, gastroscopy and biopsy of gastric mucosa. Results The positive rate of HP detection was 53.8%. The incidences of atrophy of gland and intestinal metaplasis with HP infection were 9.1% and 14.9%. These were significantly higher than those 2.9% and 7.7% without HP infection (P0.05). The average ages of occurrence of mucous atrophy and intestinal metaplasis with HP infection were 46.6±14.4 and 39.3±13.6. These were significantly less than those 56.2±9.1 and 58.2±8.6 without HP infection (P0.01). Conclusion The early infection of HP could increase the incidences of gastric mucous atrophy, intestinal metaplasis and atypical hyperplasia and increase the risk of suffering gastric cancer.
