Abstract

Objective Hp infection in 392 cases of stomach lesions(213 cases of gastric inflammation, 76 cases of dysplasia and49 cases of gastric carcinoma) was detected to explore the potential relationship between Hp infection and stomach lesions. Methods Rapid urease method, Giemsa staining and C 14 breathing test were applied to detect the Hp infection in gastric mucosa. Hp infection rates were compared between different stomach lesions. Results There is a close relationship between Hp infection rate and severity of gastric mucosa dysplasia. But Hp infection rate was lower in gastric cancer than in other stomach lesions. Caspase 3 positively correlates with the severity of gastric lesion, while bcl xl negatively does. Conclusion Hp infection rate paralleled to severity of gastric mucosa lesion and dysplasia. Hpinfection maybe is a forepart affair, which interferes with mucosa apoptosis during carcinogenesis and progress of gastric cancer.
