Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Gepi decoction on TNF-α in type 2 diabetes mellitus rats. Methods Diabetices model rats induced by STZ were randomly divided into control group, simple model group, Gepi decoction group, Metformin group. General situation were observed during and after treatment. The levels of blood glucose, blood lipids, insulin, TNF-α, IL-6,MCP-1,24h urinary albumin were detected 8 weeks after treatment. Insulin sensitivity index (ISI) was calculated. Results The general conditions of diabetic rats were improved in Gepi decoction group. Compared with the simple model group, the levels of blood glucose, TC, TG, TNF -α,IL -6,MCP -1 and 24h urinary albumin of the Gepi decoction group were lower, ISI markedly improved. Urinary albumin of Gepi decoction group were lower than metformin group. There was no significant difference between two treatment group in lipids, insulin, TNF-α, IL-6,MCP-1. Conclusion Gepi decoction can reduce the levels of blood glucose, TNF-α and MCP-1. Gepi decoction can improve insulin sensitivity and inflammatory reaction of rats with type 2 diabetic mellitus.
