Abstract
Aim To develop recombinant vaccine candidate antigens Methods S japonicum adult cDNA library was screened using sera from immune rabbits vaccinated with irradiated cercariae and also using monoclone antibodies(McAbs)Against membrane antigen of S japonicum schistosomula The inserts of six positive clones both to the sera and McAbs were specifically amplified by PCR Results Twelve positive clones were obtained with immune rabbits sera and among those clones, six clones were reacted with at least two strains of four McAbs The size of these inserts ranged from 400bp to 1 4kp Conclusions The positive clones were found to be related to protective immunity, and they may be genes encoding protective S japonicum antigens
