Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the positive expression of osteopontin(OPN)and protain27(p27)in prostate cancer(PCa)tissue, study their correlation and roles in PCa.METHODS Select a total of 80 patients in the First Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University with histologically diagnosed prostate cancer confirmed by surgery or biopsy pathology from 1Sep.2007 to 20Feb.2012,to analyze expression of OPN and p27 in prostate cancer tissue and the corresponding para-carcinoma tissue using imunohistochemistry.RESULTS The positive expression rate of p27 was 51.3%(41/80)in prostate cancer tissue and 83.8%(67/80)in the corresponding para-carcinoma tissue, with statistical significance(P=0.046),while the positive expression of OPN in prostate cancer tissue was 65.0%(52/80)and 31.3%(25/80)in the conrresponding para-carcinoma tissue, which also showed a statistically significant difference(P=0.042).The different expressions of p27 were related to the tumor grade(P=0.041),clinical stages(P=0.034)and clinical metastasis(P=0.046).The different expressions of OPN were also related to the tumor grade(P=0.035),clinical stages(P=0.034)and clinical metastasis(P=0.025).There was negative correlation between the p27 and OPN in prostate cancer tissue(P<0.01),the difference had statistical significance.CONCLUSION The joint detection of p27 and OPN may offer an effective therapeutic strategy for the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer.
