Abstract

The synthesis of n-amyl benzoate was studied with pent a nol and phenylformic acid as reactants, and reaction conditions were selected. It showed that TiSiW 12O 40/TiO 2 was an excellent catalyst for the syn thesis of n-amyl benzoate, and the optimum reaction conditions were that the mol ar ratio of pentyl to acid was 4:1, the mass ratio of the catalyst used in the r eactants was 1.5%, and the reaction time was 2.5 h. Under these conditions, the yield of n-amyl benzoate reached 96.7%.
