Abstract

Objective To investigate the renal protection and mechanism of propofol in ARIRI rat models. Methods The model of rat's ARIRI was established. 54 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: false operating group, ischemia reperfusion group and propofol group. BUN, Cr, SOD, and MDA were detected before I/R for 15 minutes and after I/R for 2 hours and 24 hours, and renal histopathology lesions were examined. Results Renal histopathology lesions of propofol preconditioning group decreased significantly after I/R. In I/R group, BUN and Cr serum levels increased significantly after I/R, compared with false operating group(P0.05), while propofol decreased the serum levels of BUN and Cr significantly(P0.05).There was statistic significance of the serum levels of SOD and MDA in Propofol preconditioning group and I/R group(P0.05).Conclusion Propofol preconditioning to kidney could protect the kidney from ARIRI.
