Abstract

[Objective] To explore the changes of serum intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP) in patients with coronary heart disease and their significance.[Methods] A total of 69 patients with coronary heart disease, including 18 cases of mono-branch stenosis and 51 of multi-branch stenosis.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure the plasma soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP) compared with those in 30 normal outpatients.[Results] The levels of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and Creactive protein(CRP) were significantly higher in patients with coronary heart disease than in those of the control(P﹤0.05);Strong positive correlation existed between intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP)(P﹤ 0.05).[Conclusion] Intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) and C-reactive protein(CRP) are significantly correlated with the extent and severity of coronary atherosclerosis, which provides references for clinical diagnosis.
