Clinical significance of the expression of OPN and C-erbB-2、P53 in breast cancer

Objective To deternine the expression of osteopontin(OPN)and C-erbB-2、P53,investigate the relationship between the expression of OPN,C-erbB-2 and P53 and the clinicopathologic characteristics in breast cancer patients. Methods The expression of OPN C-erbB-2 and P53 in 50 breast carcinomas was evaluated by immunohistochemical method. Results The positive rate of expression of OPN C-erbB-2 and P53 was 76.0%,62.0%,56% respectively. The expression of OPN was positively correlated with tumor size,axillary lymphonodes metastases and clinical phase(P0.05). The expression of C-erbB-2 was positively correlated with tumor size,axillary lymphy nodes metastases,clinical phase and ER or PR expression(P0.05). The expression of P53 was positively correlated with tumor size,axillary lymphonodes metastases and ER or PR expression (P0.05).There was a significantly positive relationship of OPN and C-erbB-2,P53. Conclusion In breast cancer patients,the expression of OPN,C-erbB-2,P53 protein was significantly associated with clinicopathological characteristics.It is of great significance to evaluate patient's condition,prognosis and clinical medicine by simultaneously determinating the expression of OPN,C-erbB-2 and P53 protein in breast cancer patients.
