Abstract

An experiment was conducted with the seeds and stem-tip of Cattleya to investigate its tissue culture. The results showed that roots could sprout in MS medium without hormones. For the proliferation and differentiation of callus of protocorm combinations of different concentrations of cell divisions with auxins could be used. The optional medium was MS+6-BA 3 mg/L+NAA 0.5~1.0 mg/L. The low concentration growing regulator with MS+6-BA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.4 mg/L+GA_3 0.2 mg/L advantaged the rapid propagation of shoot-clump, which had obvious synergism for the medium appended with suitable-density of coconut milk and active carbon, but high concentration had inhibitory effect. The optional rooting medium of MS+NAA 0.5 mg/L or IBA 0.5 mg/L could attain the rooting-rate of 100%.
