Clinical effect of Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastric ulcer

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastric ulcer.Methods From January 2006 to June 2009,126 cases with gastric ulcer were randomly divided into two groups:TCM treatment group(n=63) and conventional western medicine group(n=63),and treatment cycles were 8 weeks.Results In TCM treatment group,28 patients were cured,and 25 cases were markedly effective,and total effective rate was 84.1%;in conventional western medicine group,11 cases were cured,29 cases were markedly effective,and total effective rate was 63.5%,and there was significant difference between two groups(P0.01).There were not obvious adverse reactions in two groups.After a period of 6 months follow-up,3 cases recurred(recurrence rate 4.8%) in TCM treatment group,and 14 cases recurred in conventional western medicine group(recurrence rate 22.2%),and there was significant difference between two groups(P0.01).Conclusion The efficacy of Chinese medicine is very effective in the treatment of gastric ulcer recurrence rate,with the low recurrence rate.
