The experience of telmisartan combined with fosinopril in treatment of diabetic nephropathy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of telmisartan combined with fosinopril in treatment of diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods Fifty-eight patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into telmisartan group and telmisartan combined with fosinopril group, each group had 29 cases, treating for 6 months. Systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), 24h urinary protein, serum creatinine(Scr), blood urea nitrogen(BUN) of both groups were measured before and after the treatment. Results After the treatment, the SBP, DBP, 24h urinary protein, Scr, BUN of the two groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05), and the corresponding indicators of combined treatment group decrease was more prominent (P<0.05). Conclusions Telmisartan combined with fosinopril have a significant effect of reducing urinary protein and protecting renal function on diabetic nephropathy, and is suitable for the clinical application.
