Transurethral resection of the prostate: clinical analysis of 89 cases

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods Clinical data of 89 patients with TURP were retrospectively analyzed.Results TURP is successful,no serious complications such as bleeding or reoperation,dysuria.The patients were followed up for 12-24 months,with an average of 15 months.The micturition and the quality of life were significantly improved than preoperation.Conclusion TURP has small trauma,rapid recovery,etc,and its treatment effect is satisfied.
