ANALYSIS ON THE 20 CASES ACCEPTED THE SECOND TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF PROSTATE FOLLOWING THE FIRST TURP

Abstract

Objective To discuss causes and treatment for the dysuria that needed a second transurethral resection of prostate(TURP) following the first TURP on benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH). Methods 20 cases who have recurent dysuria received second TURP,the clinical data was retrospectively analysised. Results According to the different condition,appropriate treatment was admitted to these patients.In a follow-up of about 24 months,17 cases cured,suprapubic cystostomy in 2 cases,1 patient died. Conclusion Correct preoperative diagnosis,proper treatment according to the different condition,rigorous postoperative regulation and follow up,was the key step to enhance the quality of life for these patients,and decrease the necessary for second TURP.
