Effect of Medilac-S combined with macrogol 4000 powder on chronic functional constipation

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of Medilac-S combined with macrogol 4000 powder on chronic functional constipation.Methods The 226 patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group (Medilac-S combined with macrogol 4000 powder group) and control group (macrogol 4000 powder group).The treatment lasted for 6 weeks.In this course,all the patients were followed up after the 3 weeks treatment.Results After the 3 weeks treatment,the total effective rates were respectively 88.3％ and 70.1％ in treatment group and control group.After the 6 week treatment,the total effective rates of the two groups were 98.3％ and 82.3％ respectively.The total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group after the 3 or 6 weeks treatment (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The effect of Medilac-S combined with macrogol 4000 powder on chronic functional constipation was better than that of macrogol 4000 powder.
