Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of trimebute maleate combined with medilac-S in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Methods: Sixty patients with IBS were randomly divided into two groups(n=30 in each group). They were treated with 200 mg of trimebute maleate and 500 mg of medilac-S,po,tid;or with medilac-S,po,tid,alone(control group) for four weeks. The symptoms of patients, times and physical findings of stool were observed. Results: The overall efficacy rate was 90% in combination group, which was obviously higher than that in control group(73.33%,P0.05).The effect on abdominal pain and diarrhea were significantly better in combination group than in control group(P0.05).Conclusion: Trimebute maleate in combination with medilac-S is effective in the treatment of IBS.
