Effect of different dose of folic acid on the plasma homocysteine in patients with hyperhomocysteinima-related hypertention

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of different dose of folic acid on the plasma homocysteine in patients with hyperhomocysteinima-related hypertention.Methods One hundred and fifty patients with hyperhomocysteinima-related hypertention were randomly divided into 3 groups,50 cases in each group.Group A was given folic 5 mg/d; group B was given folic acid 10 mg/d; group C was given folic acid 15 mg/d; The plasma homocysteine(Hcy) concentration was detected before and after 4 weeks treatment.Results After 4 weeks treatment,the levels of plasma Hcy all significantly decreased in 3 groups(P all ＜ 0.001),compared with the level of prior treatment.But there was no difference among the 3 groups after the treatment (P all ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The plasma homocysteine in patients with hyperhomocysteinima-related hypertention was decreased after the treatment of folic acid.The degree of the homocysteine decreased has no relationship with dose of the medicine.
