Abstract
Objective To analyze the relationship between serum folic acid level and plasma total homocysteine(tHcy)level on mild-moderate hypertension. Methods 455(aged 28~75)essential hypertensive patients from Harbin,Shenyang,Beijing,Xi'an,Shanghai and Nanjing were analysed.Serum folic acid level and plasma total homocysteine levels were measured. Results Serum folic acid levels were lower, plasma total homocysteine levels were higher, and hyperhomocysteinemia prevalence rate were also higher in population serum folic acid level under 15 nmol/L.Conclusions Relationship between serum folic acid level and plasma total homocysteine level is a negative correlation in population with hypertension.
