Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of decoction Dachaihu in the treatment of acute cholecystitis. Methods 100 patients were randomly divided into a study group and a control group,50 for each group. The study group received decoction Dachaihu; while the control group received conventional Western medicines.10 days was determined as a course of treatment in the two groups. Results The cure rate was 80% in the study group and 54% in the control group, with a significant statistical difference (P<0.05).The effectiveness rate was 96% in the study group and 80% in the control group, and it did not differ statistically between the two groups (P>0.05).Time to disappearance of fever or abdominal pain was significantly shorter in the study group than in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions Decoction Dachaihu is efficacious in the treatment of acute cholecystitis and is worth popularizing clinically. Key words: Decoction Dachaihu; Acute cholecystitis; Randomized controlled trials
