Clinical efficacy of TCM retention enema combined with moxibustion and massage therapy in the treatment of radiation enteritis

Objective To analyze clinical efficacy of TCM retention enema combined with moxibustion and massage therapy in the treatment of radiation enteritis.Methods 124 patients with radiation enteritis were randomly divided into control group and observation group,each group of 62 cases.Control group was treated with metronidazole combined with dexamethasone,while treatment group was treated with TCM retention enema combined with moxibustion and massage.Observed efficacy and quality of life.Results 15 cases were cured,31 cases were markedly effective,13 cases were effective,the effective rate was 95.2％ in observation group.8 cases were cured,26 cases were markedly effective,16 cases were effective,the effective rate was 80.6％ in control group,with statistical difference between two groups (x 2 =4.854,P =0.028).SF36 scores were (84.1 ± 13.0) and (89.1 ± 13.8) 1 month and 6 months after treatment in observation group,and those in control group were (76.4 ± 12.5) and (80.5 ± 12.7),P ＜ 0.05.Conclusions TCM retention enema combined with moxibustion and massage in the treatment of radiation enteritis is effective and safe,which can effectively improve patients' gastrointestinal mucosa function and quality of life.
