Abstract

Objective To study the clinical effect of combined treatment of methycobal and intermit-tent pneumatic compression (IPC) on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods Ninety-six patients with diabertic peripheral neuropty (DPN) were randomly divided into the control group that was treated with methycobal and the treatment group that was treated with methycobal and IPC. Observed the subjective symptom, tendon reflex and nerve conduction velocity and compared the difference between two groups. Results The total efficacy rate was 91. 67% in the treatment group and 70.83% in the control group. There were statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Compared to control group, nerve conduction velocity was increased in the treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusions Counbined therapy of methycobal and IPC is more effective than the treatment of methycobal alone for the treatment of DPN. Key words: Methycobal;  IPC;  Diabetic peripheral neuropathy
