Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of nuclear factor-кB(NF-кB) mRNA and its relationship with clinical-pathological index in breast cancer. Methods Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was applied to detect NF-кB mRNA expression in 70 cases of breast cancer and normal paired tissues and the relationship between the positive rate of NF-кB and clinical-pathological index were analyzed. Results Forty-four cases of breast cancer were NF-кB mRNA positive in 70 cases of breast cancer which was significantly higher than 29 cases positive normal paired tissues(P<0.05).Relatively the NF-кB mRNA positve rate in groups of lymph node metastasis(73.9%)and advanced stage(84.6%) were significantly higher than those in non- metastasis(41.7%)and early-stage(50.0%),P<0.05.Conclusions NF-кB mRNA is highly expressed in breast cancer and correlate with tumor metastasis and progression. NF-кB plays a role in breast cancer progression and maybe predicate the advancement and prognosis of breast cancer. Key words: Nuclear factor-кB ;  Breast cancer ;  RT-PCR ;
