Abstract

Objective: To determine the expression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) in breast cancer and its correlation with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α). Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of NF-κB and TNF-α in 67cases of primary breast cancer, and analyzed the association of NF-κB with Clinical and pathological features of breast cancer and TNF-α.Results: 1) The positive expression rate of NF-κB in Paracancerous normal tissue, breast hyperplasia and breast cancer were 20%(3/15)、33.3%(5/15), 79.1%(53/67) respectively; 2)There were no significant association of NF-κB with age、tumor size, histological type(P0.05), but significant correlation with presence or absence of lymphnode metastasis and Histologic staging(P0.05); 3)The expression of NF-κB had a positive correlation with TNF-α. Conclusion: The expression of NF-κB in breast cancer increased notably and had a significant correlation with presence or absence of lymph node metastasis and Histologic staging, and had a positive correlation with TNF-α, so it provide an important reference in diagnosis, targeted therapy and prognosis of breast cancer Malignant and Benign of breast cancer.
