Observation of the efficacy of valsartan in treatment of the patients with essential hypertension

Objective To study on the efficacy of valsartan in treatment of the patients with essential hypertension.Methods 80 cases with essential hypertension patients,according to number table,were randomly divided into treatment group and control group in this study.The patients of control and treatment group were treated with captopril(25 mg,tid) and valsartan(80 mg,tid) respectively.Then their clinical efficacies and side effects were observed.Results Treatment group was markedly effective in 23 cases,15 cases of effective,ineffective in 2 cases and the total effective rate was 95%.Meanwhile,control group was 17 cases,13 cases,10 cases and 75% respectively.The total effective rate between the two groups had statistically significant differences(χ2 = 6.275,P＜0.05).After treatment,both of groups' blood pressure,serum uric acid and blood microglobulin levels was obviously lower than before treatment(t = 10.718,4.632,3.865,2.332,23.272,10.628,21.556,14.824,all P＜0.05),moreover,the treatment group decreased more markedly than the control group(t = 12.518,10.719,16.839,12.626,all P＜0.05).There were three cases of adverse reactions in the treatment group,and the control group was four cases.Conclusion This study indicated that valsartan treatment essential hypertension was effective,effects stability,convenience,minor adverse reactions,patient well tolerated,and was one of effective drugs treatment hypertension to prevent target organ damage.
