Abstract

Objective To study the clinical effects of different insulin therapy type on newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Methods Totally 84 patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes were randomly assigned to continuous insulin infusion treatment group (CS Ⅱ group,42 eases) and multiple subcutaneous insulin infusion treatment group (MS Ⅱ group,42 cases) from January 2009 to June 2011.Blood glucose variation, insulin dosage, the time that blood glucose came up to the standards, the incidence of low blood glucose, and islet function when stopping the insulin pump therapy were observed. Results Blood glucose levels were lowered in both groups after treatment. But CS Ⅱ group was faster, and with lower insulin dosage, lower blood glucose fluctuation, lower rate of low blood glucose compared with MS Ⅱ groups. And some patients resumed the islet function. The differences were statistical significant. Conclusions It is secure and effective of insulin pump therapy in treating newly diagnosed type 2diabetes,can be the first therapy method for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Key words: Insulin pump; Subcutaneous insulin infusion; Type 2 diabetes; Blood glucose; Intensive treatment of diabetes
