Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of short-term intensive treatment of insulin pump on blood sugar control and safety in patients with newly dianosed type 2 diabetes, and to investigate the changes of the function of B-cell. Methods Seventy-nine newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were randomly divided into two groups. One group were treated with insulin pump in continuous subcutaneous insulin (BiAsp) infusion (CSⅡ group) (40 cases);Another group were repeatedly treated with premixed insulin (BiAsp30) in subcutaneous injection(39 cases),namely subcutaneous injections of insulin (MSⅡ group). The blood glucose, blood insulin and c-peptide, blood glucose target time, insulin dosage and hypoglycemia events were recorded. Results Both groups could effectively control blood sugar, but the blood glucose was controlled more quickly, and the levels of insulin and c-peptide were improved more obviously in CSⅡ group than those in MSⅡ group. The incidence of hypoglycemia in CSⅡ group was also significantly reduced. Conclusions Short-term intensive treatment with insulin pump can quickly and safely control blood sugar in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes, and improve the function of B-cell.
