Abstract
Objective To study the effect of folic acid combined with vitamin B6 and cobamamide on reducing plasma homocysteine (Hcy) in young and middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 189 young and middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction admitted to Xuchang Central Hospital from October 2017 to March 2018 were included in this study. All the patients were complicated with Hyperhomocysteinemia. According to the treatment schemes for lowing Hcy, the patients were divided into observation group and control group. Ninety-six patients in observation group were treated with folic acid combined with vitamin B6 and cobamamide to reduce plasma homocysteine, and 93 patients in control group were treated with folic alone. The changes of plasma Hcy in the two groups were recorded before treatment, 1 month and 3 months after treatment. The plasma Hcy decline rate and effective rate of lowing Hcy were calculated in the two groups after 3 months of treatment, and the occurrence of adverse reactions in the two groups was recorded. Results The levels of plasma Hcy in observation group 1 month and 3 months after treatment were (23.3±4.1) μmol/L and (15.4±3.2) μmol/L, respectively, which were significantly lower than (29.3±5.5) μmol/L before treatment. The level of plasma Hcy in control group 3 months after treatment was (18.2±5.4) μmol/L, which was lower than (30.5±6.1) μmol/L before treatment. The comparison between the two groups showed that the levels of plasma Hcy in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group 1 month and 3 months after treatment (P 0.05). Conclusions Folic acid combined with vitamin B6 and adenosine cobalamin can effectively reduce plasma Hcy level in young and middle-aged patients with cerebral infarction, and the therapeutic regimen is worthy of clinical application.
