Changes of serum TNF and IL-8 levels and the clinical significance in patients with lung cancer

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical significance of determination of serum TNF and IL 8 levels in patients with lung cancer.Methods Serum concentrations of TNF and IL 8 from 32 cases with lung cancer and 35 normal controls were determined by radioimmunoassay.Results The levels of TNF and IL 8 in patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those in normal controls(P0.01).Conclusion Measurement of TNF and IL 8 levels in patients with lung cancer might he clinically helpful for assessing therapeutic effect and prognosis.
