Contemporary Literary Criticism: Looking Back and a Way to Advance

The contemporary literary criticism,since the new era,has undergone post-political oriented criticism in 1980s,including reflective criticism,aesthetic criticism and new enlightenment criticism,etc..It has also undergone the rice bowl criticism in 1990s,including disciplinary criticism,market criticism or media criticism,etc.At the turning point of the new century,cultural criticism,mainly presenting cultural criticism of popular aesthetic consuming,is still under debate.The brief review reveals that in this process the intelligentsia criticism is basically in a dominant and recessive curve and in a sheltered state,which was active in 1980s,and peripheral in 1990s; however,on the turning point of the century,it is excluded from the discussion of contemporary cultural criticism.As a matter of fact,the international contemporary cultural criticism has offered a chance for the intelligentsia criticism also called the cultural criticism of intelligentsia criticism which is a vital way to advance for our contemporary literary criticism.
