Abstract

[Objective] The aim was to establish a determination method for the catechin content of RHIZOMA BERGENIAE SCOPULOSAE by HPLC.[Method] Ultrasonic-assisted extraction was adopted and HPLC was used for the determination. The chromatographic conditions were:Kromasil-C18(4.6 mm×150 mm,5 μm) as the column,methanol-water-glacial acetic acid(V/V/V,15:84:1) as the mobile phase,1.0 ml/min flow rate, and 276 nm detection wavelength.[Result] The linear range of catechins was between 0.624 and 3.12 μg/ml(r=0.999 3);the average recovery was 100.05%,with RSD=1.73%(n=6).[Conclusion] This method was simple and accurate, and could be used for the determination of catechins in RHIZOMA BERGENIAE SCOPULOSAE.
