Abstract

Objective To explore the efficacy of two medical abortion approachs for terminating 8-14 weeks' gestation. Methods 135 pregnant women at 8 to 14 weeks was requested pregnancy termina tion were randomly divided into 2 groups: compound mifepristone group and mifepristone group. In the former group, 67 women received oral compound mifepristone (mifepristone 60 mg and anordrin 10 mg) one tablet twice on the first day, and then oral misoprostol of 0.6 mg 48 hours later, with vaginal misoprostol of 0.4mg every 4 hours (total dosage of misoprostol 0.05). Conclutiona Compound mifepristone combined with misoprostol can terminate 8-12 weeks's gestation safely and effectively. It is simple and has a better efficacy with a ideal success rate of abortion and less dosage of mifepristone Key words: Medical abortion;  Compound mifepristone;  Mifepristone;  Misoprostol;  First trimester;  Efficacy
