Clinical Effects of Mifepristone Plus Misoprostol on Terminating Early Pregnancy

Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effects of Mifepristone plus misoprostol to terminate the early pregnancy(gestational age 5-7 weeks).Methods The clinical data of 100 women of child-bearing age undergoing the medical abortion at their own choice from June 2007 to June 2010 were analyzed.The gestational ages of the women with abortion were 5-7 weeks.A once daily oral 50 mg Mifepristone was administrated for two days,and followed by 0.6 mg Misoprostol in the morning of the third day.Results Ninety-two in 100 pregnant women can achieve complete abortion after orally misoprostol.The success rate was 92%;8 pregnant women need curettage to achieve abortion.The adverse reactions in all cases were mild,and no patients get out of the treatment for side-effects.Conclusion Mifepristone and Misoprostol are safe and effective on induced abortion at 5-7 weeks of gestation.It is easily accepted by sufferers and is worthy to be promoted.
