Abstract

OBJECTIVE To analyze the distribution and drug resistance of the clinical isolates of pathogens so as to guide the reasonable clinical use of antibiotics.METHODS By means of the ATB Expression automatic microorganism analyzer of France, the isolation, culture, identification, and drug susceptibility testing of the pathogens were performed from Jan 2011 to Jun 2011.RESULTS A total of 1 846 strains of pathogens have been isolated from 6802 clinical specimens, wit the positive detection rate of 27.14%;the gram-negative bacilli were the predominant pathogens, accounting for 39.27%;the Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Acinetobacter baumannii,Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli were the major species of gram-negative bacilli. The drug resistance rates of the P.aeruginosaand A.baumannii to imipenem were 30.62%and 74.83%,respectively.The isolated fungi accounted for 38.57%,among which the Candida albicans,Candida glabrata, and Candida tropicalis were dominant;the gram-positive cocci accounted for 22.16%,among which the Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis were the predominant species, and nearly all the strains were susceptible to vancomycin and teicoplanin.CONCLUSIONS The bacterial resistance remains one of the most serious subjects that the hospitals are facing, and the understanding of the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens may contribute to the reasonable clinical use of antibiotics.
