Abstract
Danyu 56 is a late maturing maize hybrid which was bred by K162×78599. The hybrid showed high and stable yield at various experiment plots in various areas in 1995~1999. The result showed that it had very high ability of disease resistance, lodging resistance, drought resistance. Matures when plant is still green. In general conditions, the hybrid average yield was above 9 750 kg/ha, increased by 8% than local public varieties. The adaptive planting areas of Danyu 56 were in the area where Yedan 13 and Danyu 26 were planted in Liaoning province and Jilin province, especial in the southern part of Liaoning province and the coastland of Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea.
