Combination of modified“Pipa Qingfei Decoction”and“Xiaoyanling Lotion”for the treatment of acne

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the supportive therapeutic effect ofXiaoyanling Lotionin treating acne. Methods One hundred and twenty cases with acne were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group was treated by modified Pipa Qingfei Decoctionand Xiaoyanling Lotion,and control group was treated by modifiedPipa Qingfei Decoctiononly,four weeks as one course of treatment. We observed the skin rash for two courses continuously,and evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety. Results After the 1st course,the effective rate of the treatment group was 72. 86%,while the effective rate of the control group was 52%. After the 2nd course,the effective rates of two groups were 88. 57% and 74% respectively,with significant differences between the two groups( P 0.05),and no serious skin irritation was found in treatment group. Conclusion CombinedXiaoyanling Lotionexternally and Chinese medicine orally can significantly improve the clinical efficacy and without adverse reaction for the treatment of acne.
