Abstract
Guo Songtao succeeded the thought of administer affairs in early life,emphasized on foreign affairs in middle life,and advocated innovation in later life.He was a famous statesman,educator and diplomat in the contemporary history of China.His life experience was uneven.His political thoughts included criticizing problems and saving the country.His educational thoughts were opposing imperial examination and advocating science.His diplomatic thoughts were cautious and peaceful.
