Abstract
To the historic position of Guo Songtao,his whole life and his thoughts keeping up with the times,we think,he was not only the successor of the Group of Statecraft and the theorist of the Group of the Modernization Movement, but also the pioneer of the Group of Reformers. He could be rated as the representative of reformer groups in the history of the late Qing.
