Abstract

Objective To analyze the distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria isolated from refractory wounds in burn wards. Methods Pathogenic bacteria were isolated from refractory wounds of patients in burn wards from January 2006 to June 2012.K-B slip diffusion method was used to test the drug sensitivity and analyze the rates of drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria. Results A total of 154 strains were isolated, including 62 Gram-positive bacteria(40.26%) and 92 Gram-negatives(59.74%).The common pathogenic bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii. Most of the pathogens in refractory wounds were S.aureus.P.aeruginosa and A.baumannii were predominant in pressure ulcer wounds, and P.aeruginosa was common in other refractory wounds.Gram-positive bacteria isolated from wounds were highly susceptible to linezolid and nitrofurantoin, while Gram-negative bacteria were significantly sensitive to cefoperazone-sulbactam,amikacin,imipenem,aztreonam and cefoxitin. No strains resistant to vancomycin were found.S.aureus and A.baumannii had strong drug resistances, while P.aeruginosa showed low resistance. Conclusion Different distributions of pathogenic bacteria are seen in refractory wounds caused by various reasons. The main pathogens causing refractory wounds are mainly multi-drug resistant S.aureus and A.baumannii.
