Abstract

Objective:To analyze distribution of pathogenic bacteria from burn wounds and drug resistance, and to provide the basis for clinical prevention and treatment of infection. Methods:We collected 531 patients hospitalized for burn wounds during Jan.2005 and Dec.2008 and isolated and identified bacteria by conventional method from the injured area.Antibiotics spectrum was determined.Results:562 strains was isolated from the burn injured area(31 patients had two kinds of bacteria). And among them there were 258(45.91%) strains of gram-positive bacteria, the isolating rate of Staphylococcus aureus was the highest. There were 293(52.14%) strains of gram-negative bacteria, the isolating rate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa rate was the highest. There were 11(1.96%)real strains. The results of susceptibility test indicated that gram-positive bacteria were resistant to Penicillin,Rifampicin,Clindamycin and Ampicillin, while gram-negative bacteria were resistant to Penicillin,Cephazolin,Ampicillin and Fosfomycin. Conclusion:The bacteria from burn wounds has high resistance to various antibiotics, and drug resistance should be monitored in order to provide clinical basis for reasonable use of antibiotics.
