Application orthognathic technique in treating long-standing jaw fractures

Objective To investigate the application of orthognathic surgery in long-standing jaw fractures.Methods We collected 12 cases of long-standing jaw fractures from January 2007 to April 2010.According to the regular rules of orthognathic surgery,the 12 patients were taken cephalometric analysis and impression.Model surgery and splint were performed and evaluated before operation.To observe the variation of dentomaxillofacial deformity and dysfunction.Results All of the wound were primary healed.The dentomaxillofacial deformity,malocclusion and manducation disfunction were restored.Conclusion Orthognathic surgery is available treatment for the patients with dentomaxillofacial deformities and malocclusion after trauma.
