Clinical obseruation of orthognathic surgery technique in the treatment of 15 cases old jaw bone fractures

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application of orthognathic surgery in treating old jaw bone fractures.Methods We collected 15 cases of old jaw bone fractures from August 2008 to April 2011 in our hospital.According to the regular rules of orthognathic surgery,the 15 patients were taken cephalometric analysis and impression.Model surgery and splint were performed and evaluated before operation.The variation of dentomaxillofacial deformity and dysfunction were observed.Results All of the wound were primary healed.The dentomaxillofacial deformity,malocclusion and manducation disfunction were restored.Conclusion Orthognathic surgery is available treatment for the patients with old jaw bone fractures.
