Orthognathic Surgery of Old Maxillofacial Fractures

Objective: To investigate the effects of orthognathic surgery to treat cases with old maxillofacial fractures.Methods:According to the regular rules of orthognathic surgery,the patients should be taken X-ray,impression and model surgery before operation.Then 12 cases were taken orthognathic surgery,rigid internal fixation to treat with old maxillofacial fractures.Results: All of the wound were primary healed.The dentomaxillofacial deformities and disfunction were restored.Conclusion:Orthognathic surgery is available treatment for the patients with dentomaxillofacial deformities and malocclusion after trauma.
