Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic efficacy of metoprolol combined with nitrendipine in the treatment of primary hypertension. METHODS: 120 patients with primary hypertension in our hospital from Jan. 2008 to Jun. 2010 were selected as research object, and they were randomly divided into 60 cases in control group (metoprolol group)and 60 cases in observation group (metoprolol combined with nitrendipine group). Control group were treated with metoprolol 50 mg each time, twice a day with oral administration. Observation group was treated with metoprolol 12.5 mg each time, three times a day, nitrendipine 10 mg each time, three times a day with oral administration. The total effective rate, the incidence of adverse drug reactions, cardiac hypertrophy, blood lipid levels of 2 groups were detected and compared before and after treatment. RESULTS: The total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group(100.0% vs. 93.3%, P0.05),incidence of adverse reactions was lower than that of control group(5.0% vs. 15.0%, P0.05),improvement degree of cardiac hypertrophy and serum TG,APO-B100,LDL-C were better than those of control group, all P0.05,there were significant differences, but serum TC and HDL-C had no significant differences, all P0.05. CONCLUSION: Metoprolol combined with nitrendipine is effective in the treatment of primary hypertension with less adverse drug reactions. and can improve degree of cardiac hypertrophy, TG,APO-B100,LDL-C.
