Clinical effect of amlodipine combined with metoprolol in treatment of essential hypertension

Abstract
Objective To observe clinical effect of amlodipine combined with metoprolol in treatment of essential hypertension.Methods 112 patients with essential hypertension were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,56 cases of each.The control group was given amlodipine treatment,the treatment group on the basis of the control group was added metoprolol therapy.Observed the two groups of blood pressure,heart rate changes,clinical efficacy and occurrence of adverse reactions.Results Blood pressure of the two groups were lower after treatment,the differences were statistically significant(P0.05),heart rate of treatment group was lower than before treatment and control group,the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).Markedly effective and the total effective rates of treatment group were 67.9% and 96.4% vs 44.6% and 83.9% in the control group,the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P0.05);The incidence of adverse reactions of treatment group was 7.1%,lower than 16.1% in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Combined with amlodipine with metoprolol treatment of essential hypertension antihypertensive effect is good,fewer adverse reactions,should be popularized.
