Abstract

Objective To compare the biopsy by colposcopy and loop electrical excision procedure(LEEP) for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and to improve diagnostic accuracy in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Methods Biopsy by colposcopy and biopsy after LEEP were analyzed retrospectively in 216 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia to study the related factors of affecting the coincidence rate. Results Comparison of pathological changes following both LEEP and colposcopy showed that 74 cases were the same;18 upgrade;124 downgrade. The upgrade rate of biopsy in satisfactory examination of colposcopy was better than that in dissatisfactory examination. There was significant difference between them(P0.01). Conclusion An attention should be paid to the endocervical when the transformation zone moves in.LEEP can compensate partially the deficiency of biopsy by colposcopy, and play a therapeutic role.
