Abstract
Carassius auratus is subjected to acute exposure experiments for 24,48,72 and 96 h with cadmium(Cd2+) solutions of different concentrations of 0.4,0.8,1.5 and 3.0 mg/L.Blood smears were made by taking the blood from the tail of Carassius auratus and microscope was used to count and aralyze the apoptosis rate in order to find out the reason for the Cd2+ stress-induced apoptosis of red blood cells.The results show that there is a stronger induced effect on the Carassius auratus red blood cells apoptosis when the Cd2+solution concentration lies in the range of 0.4~3.0 mg/L.Exposure time and the rate of apoptosis are obviously corelated to the dose-effect and time-effect.For the red blood cells,the maximum tolerance concentration of Cd2+ is 1.5 mg/L for 24 h,0.4 mg/L for 48 h.That is to say,Cd2+ has a rather strong induction upon the apoptosis of red blood cells.
