Abstract
AIM:To observe the efficacy and safety of domestic meropenem and imported one. METHODS: A controlled clinical study was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of domestic meropenem with those of imported one. Forty-six patients were divided into domestic meropenem group and imported meropenem group,with 23 in each;under administration of 1 g every 8 h intravenously for each patient with corresponding domestic on imported meropenem for a course of 6 to 14 d respectively. RESULTS: Twenty-two patients in domestic meropenem group and twenty-three patients in imported meropenem group were assessable for clinical efficacy; outcoming with clinical efficacy rates 91 % vs 91 % , bacterial eradication rates 80 % vs 82 % and adverse reaction rates 4 % vs 4 % respectively. There was no statistically difference between the two groups (P 0.05). CONCLUSION: Domestic meropenem is as effective and safe as imported meropenem in the treatment of bacterial infections.
