Clinical evaluation of the efficacy of meropenem on patients with acute severe bacterial infections

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of meropenem on Patients with acute severe bacterial infections. Methods Twenty eight patients with acute severe bacterial infections of lung,abdomen and urnary tract etc.were treated with meropenem. Results The total effective rate of meropenem was 96.4%.Bacterial eradication rate was 100.0%.The in vitro antibacterial activity of meropenem was compared with imipenem, ceftazidime,meropenem and imipenem was significantly more effective than ceftazidime. Conclusion Meropenem is effective and safe for treatment of Patients with acute severe infections of lung,abdomen and urinary tract,etc.
